A young Palestinian woman visits her husband in an Israeli prison. Unable to have conjugal visits, they devise an unusual and unexpected way to conceive.

Bir’em (Camille Clavel, 2022, France, 75min)

Nagham decides to return to her family’s village, Bir'em, destroyed during the 1948 war. The teenager spends the summer reconnecting with memories of her grandfather.

A Statement of Resistance (Ali Jabaly, 2022, Norway/ Palestine, 6min)

The will of a people to exist; this mixed-media animation shows the perseverance of a city that continues to rebuild itself despite the ravages of war. Inspired by the myth of the phoenix, a creature that cyclically regenerates and obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor, A Statement of Resistance explores the idea of hope for a better future and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
