Doc'n Roll Film Festival

Sun 29 Oct 2023
The 10th edition of Doc’n Roll Film Fest, the UK’s Music Documentary Festival, will take UK-wide audiences on a thrilling cinematic and musical journey as it celebrates a remarkable decade of outstanding filmmaking. This milestone edition of the festival promises unforgettable stories and remarkable music, with films about artists including long lost folk legend Jackson C. Frank who got his break around the corner in 1960’s Soho while hanging with Paul Simon.

This year’s programme of films represents a wide range of music genres, including rock, punk, rap, folk, dance, black metal, drone metal, bossa nova, jazz, avant garde and more. Along the way, the films spotlight scenes as diverse as Indie, Post-Punk and Bossa Nova, Classic Rock and Psychedelia, Deep Listening and Funk-Electronic fusion. These are stories of Queer identity and possibility, rebellion and Black pride, moving accounts of trauma and catharsis, feminist defiance, and politicized art.
