GARDEN CINEMA EVENT

Video Bazaar: Flesh For Frankenstein 18

Screened in partnership with Video Bazaar
Paul Morrissey, Italy, France, 1973, 95m.

This Easter Sunday Video Bazaar resurrects into The Garden Cinema to delve into the horror of creation with Andy Warhol and Paul Morrisey’s unapologetic and twisted take on the classic Frankenstein tale.

Set in 19th century Europe, the film follows the obsessive Dr. Frankenstein (Udo Kier) as he endeavors to create the perfect human being. However, his ambitions are far from altruistic, driven instead by a wicked desire for power and control.

As Dr. Frankenstein conducts his grotesque experiments, he enlists the help of his malevolent assistant Otto (Arno Juerging) and his equally deranged wife/sister Katrin (Monique van Vooren). Together, they embark on a journey into the darkest corners of the human psyche, where morality and sanity become mere afterthoughts.

This screening is the latest (burnt) offering by the cult film collective, Video Bazaar, who are proud to present this rarely screened film and are dedicated to bringing weird, obscure, and forgotten classics to London audiences at The Garden Cinema. Please note this event will feature an intro and a pre-show screening of a mystery short film.

Cast:
Joe Dallesandro, Udo Kier, Monique van Vooren, Arno Jürging
