Our screening on Friday 1 September will be followed by a Q&A with Otto Baxter (director, The Puppet Asylum), and directors of the documentary, Bruce Fletcher and Peter Beard.
Otto Baxter: Not A F***ing Horror Story is a feature length documentary following Otto Baxter, a 35-year-old man with Down Syndrome, over 6 years, as he writes and directs a foul mouthed, autobiographical, comedy, horror, musical, set in Victorian London. Otto, who has always struggled to explain how he feels, uses his film The Puppet Asylum'to explore his birth, adoption, and his epic battle with 'The Master' an evil magician bent on controlling his life. During the process Otto’s birth mother dies and he is forced to confront his life in the real world, and his future. Otto’s friends Bruce Fletcher and Peter Beard, both filmmakers, support Otto to bring his vision to life, but also learn more and more about his unique view on the world and how they can play a role in his future.
The feature will be followed by Otto Baxter's short film, The Puppet Asylum.
