Solly & Salim N/A

Michael Chambers, UK, 2024, 29m.

Solly, who lives in a Jewish area of North London, takes his granddaughter for a walk in Golders Hill Park. There, by chance, he meets Salim, a Palestinian who’s written a history of Palestine. Salim asks Solly if he’d be willing to discuss the the Arab-Israeli conflict. 'I would,' says Solly, 'and I hope we’re both old enough to discuss it without losing our tempers.'

Their exploration of each other’s past reveals the huge gap that exists between the memories of their two peoples - Israeli and Palestinian - when they look back and recount their tragic histories and the causes of the continuing conflict.

Solly and Salim was written, produced and directed by The Garden Cinema's CEO and founder, Michael Chambers.
