Vampyr with Live Score PG

Screened in partnership with Video Bazaar
Carl Theodor Dreyer, Germany, France, 1932, 66m.

Join Video Bazaar and Night Terrors for an evening of cinematic sorcery as we prepare to be immersed in the dark and mesmerizing world of Carl Theodor Dreyer's masterpiece, Vampyr, featuring a newly commissioned live score by experimental industrial musician, Eros Catheter.

Experience the hypnotic story of Vampyr which tells of Allan Gray, a young traveler who becomes embroiled in a dark and sinister mystery. As he delves deeper into the village's secrets, Gray encounters malevolent spirits, vengeful ghosts, and the elusive figure of a vampire. Blurring the lines between reality and the supernatural, Dreyer's film creates an unsettling atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll.

Known for his meticulous attention to detail and atmospheric storytelling, Dreyer's visionary direction is evident in every frame of Vampyr as he employs a unique blend of shadow, light, and unconventional cinematography to create a sense of unease and disorientation. The film's visual style, along with its eerie narrative, has made it an enduring cult classic.

Coupled with this ethereal tale will be an evocative and haunting live score performed by London based experimental musician, Liam Cadogan under his project, Eros Catheter.
