GARDEN CINEMA EVENT

Vermouth tasting, Barrafina tapas + Almodóvar’s first feature 18

Pedro Almodóvar, 1980, Spain, 82m.

If you've been curious to try out our summer selection of Spanish vermouths, join us on Thursday 18 July for a members-only tasting event. We'll be joined by Hamish Robertson from Moreno Wines, who will take us through the red, rosé, and white vermouths on offer, and explain a bit about their different flavour profiles, and the various botanicals used.

To our absolute delight, our friends (and neighbours!) at Barrafina will be very kindly providing some tantalising tapas for the occasion. Managing Director Anna Watkins will also be present to introduce the various nibbles, and contextualise their place within Spanish cuisine.

After the tasting session the bar, we'll head into the screen for Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls Like Mom, Pedro Almodóvar's first feature-length film, which was proposed by our member Juan Antonio Gonzalez Gomez.

Important info:

Due to the boozy nature of this event, we recommend having dinner prior to arrival. Barrafina will provide some tasty nibbles to enjoy alongside the vermouths, but they will not consistute a full meal. There will be a few varieties of tapas on offer, some of which will contain meat, fish, or dairy. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please notify the team. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide substitutes for any tapas you cannot consume.

Tickets are restricted to 1 per member, and are available for just £25. The ticket price will include the vermouth tasting with nibbles, a complimentary glass of your favourite vermouth of the night, to take into the screen, and an unallocated seat for the screening of Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls Like Mom. There is no need to buy a separate ticket for the screening.

Event timings:

20:30  Screening of Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls Like Mom

22:00  Expected finish
